The variety is a complex hybrid based on the species Vaccinium corymbosum with an admixture of genetic material from V. darrowii, V. angustifolium, V. tenellum, and V. ashei. The bush is vigorous, upright, with a moderate number of lateral branches; under the weight of the crop, branches may become drooping, while the fruits remain well-exposed for harvesting.
The berries are large, medium blue in color, and superior to the variety Bluecrop in firmness and size. The variety is characterized by high yield, winter hardiness higher than that of Bluecrop, and a mid-season maturity that coincides with the fruiting period of the Draper and Bluecrop varieties.
