The plant belongs to the Grote Noordhollandse type and forms medium-dark leaves. The variety is characterized by uniform growth, convenience during harvesting, and fast product cleaning, which makes it suitable for professional vegetable farming.

Under horticultural conditions, Macholong shows vigorous growth and a large size compared to other lamb's lettuce varieties, and also demonstrates a certain resistance to the effects of high temperatures.
