The variety is an annual herbaceous plant with a bushy growth habit and thin branches, reaching a height of 25–60 cm. The plant possesses high adaptability for growth on alkaline, shallow, and poor soils, and also demonstrates relative cold hardiness.
The seeds of the variety contain about 20% protein with a low fat content, about 2%. The seed composition includes anti-nutritional factors, including canavanine, which imparts a bitter taste but provides natural resistance to certain pests, in particular aphids.
