The variety Borjana was developed within the breeding programs of the IFAPA and IAS-CSIC institutes. During studies, the variety demonstrated a high degree of resistance to powdery mildew infection, with the plant infection level being less than 20% compared to more susceptible varieties.

At the time of publication of the scientific data, the variety was classified as new and was not widely distributed in agricultural production. Detailed morphological characteristics, such as maturity indicators, stem height, and grain quality composition, are not available in open sources.
