The Callas variety belongs to the group of small-seeded field beans. The plants are characterized by early ripening and high stem stiffness, which ensures resistance to lodging.

The grain of the variety contains about 28% protein and is distinguished by a very low level of vicine and convicine, which increases its value as a forage crop. The variety possesses good resistance to diseases, in particular to downy mildew.

The primary intended use is as feed grain. The variety can also be used as a green manure crop.
