The variety Leo belongs to white-flowered fodder beans. Its seeds are characterized by a relatively low tannin content and an increased protein content compared to a number of other varieties. The plant has a developed root system, especially in the 0–30 cm soil layer.

The variety is responsive to the use of plant protection products, such as fungicides and insecticides, the use of which significantly increases yield. The main purpose of the crop is for use as a protein component in the production of animal feed.
