The variety belongs to the spring field bean type. The plants have colored flowers and contain tannins. The starch content in dry matter is 311–393 g/kg. Vicine and convicine are present in the grain, the concentration of which can be reduced by hydrothermal treatment.

The variety is used in animal husbandry as a feed component for pigs and chickens, and also frequently serves as a control sample in scientific experiments. Detailed agronomic characteristics, such as maturity group, plant height, or disease resistance indices, are not provided in publications.
