The Rodeo variety is a plant with strong anthocyanin coloration of the stem and grayish-green foliage. The flowers have a characteristic black melanin spot on the wings, and the mature pods are brown-black in color.
The average plant height is about 48.4 cm. The seeds are elliptical, beige in color, with no pigmentation of the hilum. The variety contains tannins and was bred with the goal of increasing yield and resistance to lodging and diseases.
