EC13A is a first-cycle inbred line derived from the local Spanish landrace Pontedeume from the A Coruña province. This material is not a commercial variety or hybrid for general agronomic use.

The line is characterized by the presence of a flinty endosperm. The material is used for research purposes as a model sample for studying the inheritance of traits, endosperm density, and grain suitability for the production of food products, such as corn flakes.
