The hybrid is classified as conventional (non-GMO). Its grain is authorized for use in food and animal feed in the European Union; however, this hybrid has not been authorized for cultivation within the territory of EU countries.
In scientific publications, the hybrid has been used in experiments studying drought tolerance at the seedling stage as an example of a European hybrid line. In a number of publications from 2010–2011, it is mentioned in the context of reports on the unintended detection of genetically modified line impurities in seed material.
