Fusarium wilt of radish

Raphanus sativus L. var. sativus

Tracheomycotic wilt of radish caused by the specialized soil-borne pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. raphani. The disease manifests as leaf yellowing and darkening of the root vascular bundles.

In the reference 31 varieties crop Radish, where this is mentioned in the description.

The causative agent of the disease is a specialized form of the fungus Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. raphani (FOR), which is pathogenic to the Brassicaceae family. The pathogen enters the plant through wounds or natural openings in the root system and then spreads through the vessels, disrupting the transport of nutrients and water.

External symptoms are characterized by yellowing and wilting of the leaves, often unilateral in nature. Internal signs of infection include pronounced browning of the root tissues and vascular bundles of the root crop. Resistance to the disease is controlled quantitatively; in particular, the ForRs1 locus has been identified on chromosome 7, although a generally accepted classification of races and standardized resistance genes for cultivars are currently lacking.
