For optimal development of Calibrachoa in container culture, a substrate volume of 3 to 7 liters per plant is required. The soil mix should be loose, well-aerated, and preferably acidic, with high-quality drainage being a mandatory condition to prevent root rot.

The plant is considered a "heavy feeder," which requires regular fertilization due to the rapid leaching of nutrients. A distinctive aspect of care is that there is no need to deadhead faded flowers; however, to maintain aesthetic appeal in the second half of summer, trimming elongated shoots is recommended.

To form a dense canopy for container-grown Calibrachoa, early pinching of young shoots is performed. The crop demonstrates high resistance to adverse weather conditions, such as wind and rain, compared to related species, while maintaining its trailing or cascading growth habit.
