When growing begonias, it is necessary to maintain moderate substrate moisture, allowing it to dry out partially between waterings to stimulate root development and prevent diseases. Overhead irrigation is strictly prohibited, as wetting the leaves and stems promotes the development of rot and powdery mildew; irrigation must be applied strictly to the base of the plant or along the edge of the pot.
