On stems, the infection manifests as brown elliptical spots, often at the pruning sites, which can girdle the stem and lead to plant death. Leaf infection is characterized by V-shaped necrosis zones, and on fruits, in addition to general rotting, "ghost spot" is frequently observed — ring-shaped spots with a central dot.
