Yield — oats

Avena sativa L.

An integral indicator of oat productivity, expressed in c/ha or t/ha, which depends on panicle structure, 1000-grain weight, and stand density.

In the reference 234 varieties crop Oat, where this is mentioned in the description.

Oat yield is calculated based on the mass of grain harvested from a sample area, adjusted to standard moisture content. The most important elements of yield structure are panicle productivity, 1000-grain weight, productive stand density, and leaf area index, which is critical at the heading stage.

With intensive cultivation technologies, oat yield reaches 5–7 t/ha, in some cases up to 9 t/ha, whereas under high-risk farming conditions, the indicators may be 1.6–1.8 t/ha. Realization of productivity potential depends on sowing dates, an optimal seeding rate of 4–6 million viable seeds per hectare, mineral nutrition, and the level of moisture availability.
