Fragaria x ananassa Duchesne ex Rozier
A morphological parameter of strawberries, measured from the root collar to the highest point of the vegetative part. The trait is highly dependent on the agronomic background and is of secondary importance compared to plant habit and inflorescence position.

Trait values vary within the range of 20–40 cm and show high plasticity under the influence of environmental conditions, such as soil fertility and nutrient regime. The parameter is taken into account when determining the planting scheme: taller varieties require increasing the distance between plants to ensure an optimal feeding area.
For agronomic assessment, plant compactness is important as it affects canopy ventilation and the risk of fungal disease infection. Furthermore, plant height is significant when selecting varieties for protected cultivation and vertical growing systems, where working space is limited.
