Chrysanthemum L.
A key biometric indicator in chrysanthemum variety testing that determines its intended use and cultivation technology. It is measured as the distance from the soil surface to the top of the inflorescence under natural plant development without the use of growth regulators.

To describe the trait within the framework of distinctness, uniformity, and stability (DUS) testing, a three-point expression scale is used: low (e.g., variety Machismo), medium (e.g., variety Dekyen), and high (e.g., variety Figrand). During evaluation, it is impermissible to use growth regulators that can artificially alter the plant habit.
In production classification, varieties are divided into low-growing (up to 45 cm), used as pot or bedding plants; medium-growing (up to 75 cm); and high-growing (reaching 1.5 m or more), which are grown primarily for cut flowers. Plant height is closely related to stem strength and requires adjustment of agrotechnical practices, including disbudding and pinching, as well as accounting for light intensity to control shoot growth.
