Height values for this crop are determined by the genetic traits of the cultivars: compact forms reach 0.8–1.0 m, medium-sized ones reach 1.5–2.0 m, and tall specimens can grow up to 2.5–4.0 m. Measurement is taken from the soil level to the highest point of the crown, most often to the level of the inflorescences.

When selecting a cultivar, it should be noted that the shrub width often exceeds its height due to the formation of root suckers. Plant height dictates the need for specific agrotechnical practices, including radical pruning to the stump to limit habit, and also determines resistance to weather conditions, such as snow load or strong wind, which affect shoots and flower buds.
