During variety testing, height is measured in centimeters during the active flowering phase. Genetically determined indicators vary from compact forms with a height of 25–30 cm to tall plants reaching 80–100 cm, with medium-height varieties measuring about 60 cm.

Plant height determines the ornamental use of the crop and the necessity for agrotechnical practices. To maintain the compactness of tall varieties, pinching above the 4th–5th leaf is applied, as an excess of nitrogen triggers excessive stem elongation and loss of ornamental appeal, increasing the risk of lodging.
