For successful bud initiation, Osteospermum requires cool night temperatures below +13 °C, as higher values inhibit flowering. The crop is highly photophilous and requires at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight per day for full development.

The plant is sensitive to waterlogging, which is due to its biological adaptation to conditions with rapid drainage. Osteospermum tolerates short-term drought better than excessive soil moisture; therefore, irrigation should be carried out only after the top layer of the substrate has dried out.

To maintain the compactness of potted plants grown from seeds, apical pinching is applied. In vegetative propagation, it is important to select cuttings without initiated flower buds to ensure the formation of a high-quality young plant and to preserve the uniformity of varietal traits.
