When evaluating the plant height of Torenia during variety trials according to UPOV methodology, measurements are taken on a representative sample of 20 plants. The values of this trait vary depending on the plant type: dwarf (compact) varieties reach 15–20 cm, medium-height varieties — 20–35 cm, and the maximum height for upright-growing forms is 30–40 cm.

For trailing or creeping forms, plant height is often limited to 20–25 cm; however, they are characterized by significant length of trailing shoots, reaching 60–90 cm. The plant habit determines the need for plant growth regulators to maintain ornamental value, while naturally compact varieties generally do not require chemical growth regulation.
