The variety was obtained as a result of controlled crossing, where the Hayward variety was used as the maternal plant. The fruits are characterized by large size and taste qualities close to the Hayward variety.
The variety ripens several weeks earlier than the Hayward variety. In the literature, Katiuscia is mentioned primarily in the context of research programs on plant nutrition, cutting propagation methods, and in vitro culture.
