Blue Boa is an herbaceous perennial reaching a height of 60 to 90 cm. The plant forms dense vertical inflorescences up to 15 cm long and possesses fragrant bright green foliage.

The variety prefers well-drained soils and exhibits winter hardiness in USDA zones 5–10. The plant is functionally sterile, does not produce viable seeds, and is propagated exclusively vegetatively.

The crop is used in mixed borders and container gardening to attract pollinators, and is also suitable for cut flowers.
