Due to the thick and strong outer scales, as well as a thin neck, the onion dries well after harvesting and is suitable for long-term storage, including in refrigerated warehouses.
The variety is intended for fresh market supply and can be grown on various types of soils, primarily in northern latitudes. Seed material is available in standard, precision, and film-coated forms. Studies note an increased content of biologically active compounds, in particular S-alkyl-L-cysteine sulfoxides.
