The variety is classified as a sweet onion. Studies conducted in the Netherlands note that this variety possesses a certain level of tolerance to Fusarium basal rot (Fusarium oxysporum) compared to more susceptible varieties.
The variety is used in scientific experiments to study biochemical composition, in particular, the content of quercetin glucosides and flavonols. Under experimental conditions, the variety demonstrated the ability to be stored for up to eight months.
