The Roccu variety, also known as oignon de Sisco, is an heirloom crop traditionally grown in the commune of Sisco on Corsica. A specialized association for the protection and promotion of the Sisco onion is responsible for the preservation and maintenance of the variety.

The plant is characterized by a sweet, delicate flavor. In fresh form, the onion is available for sale from July until maturity, after which the produce undergoes drying and is sold for long-term storage. The variety is considered a unique product closely linked to the regional terroir.
