The variety forms large flat bulbs with dull-red firm outer scales and bright purple inner layers. The flesh of the bulbs is tender, but not very dense. The plant is characterized by vigorous, abundant dark green foliage.
The variety belongs to the mid-late group and performs best with autumn sowing. Due to poor transportability and difficulty in long-term storage, the onion is used primarily for fresh consumption in the local market.
