The variety is the result of crossing the varieties Engelsk Kæmpe and Rijnsburger. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth and forms an upright rosette of dark green leaves. The shape of the bulbs varies from round to high-round; the color of the dry scales ranges from light golden to slightly greenish-yellow.

The variety has a high dry matter content, but is characterized by reduced quality of the outer skins. It is currently considered as historical genetic material and is practically not used in modern industrial vegetable growing.
