The variety belongs to mid-early or mid-late winter types. The plant possesses a strong foliage system with an upright leaf structure. The weight of one bulb is approximately 80–110 grams.
The variety possesses high tolerance to downy mildew and winter hardiness. Produce is suitable for fresh consumption, short-term storage, and use as bunching produce.
There is a possibility of confusion, as the name «Augusta» can also be applied to other forms of onions, including hybrids of the Vidalia type.
