The variety is a local landrace from the Pannonian region of Austria. The bulbs have a dense structure and firm outer scales, which ensures high keeping quality during storage. The taste of the flesh is pungent with notes of sweetness.
The plant is adapted to warm dry summers and is traditionally grown without artificial irrigation. The variety is suitable for sowing with seeds and cultivation from onion sets. The recommended sowing depth is about 2 cm.
