Harlan hybrid forms dense, uniform bulbs of Jumbo or Colossal size. A distinctive feature of the variety is a high percentage of bulbs with a single center, ranging from 85% to 95%, which makes it suitable for industrial processing, in particular for ring slicing, as well as for the fresh market.

The plant possesses intermediate resistance to pink root, caused by Pyrenochaeta terrestris and Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cepae. The variety is intended for short-term storage and has been adapted for conditions in Central California.
