The hybrid Medaillon F1 from the company Syngenta is characterized as mid-early with a vegetation period of 105–110 days. At the same time, the hybrid Spanish Medaillon F1 from the company Sakata is positioned as a very early variety, with a ripening period of 95–105 days, and possesses resistance to pink root and Fusariumbasal rot.
There are also other forms of onion under the name "Medaillon," in particular, the "Rijnsburger" type, which is classified as a long-day variety with a ripening period of 120–124 days.
