The Midstar hybrid is a white onion belonging to the intermediate-day group. One of the key characteristics of the variety is a high frequency of single-centered bulb formation.

The plant possesses resistance to pink root rot. The storage potential of the produce is limited. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the conditions of Northern Texas, New Mexico, and the San Joaquin Valley in California.
