The bulbs of the variety have an oblate-round shape. The outer scales and flesh are colored dark red or purple, sometimes with a whitish tint. The variety has a pungent taste and a pronounced aroma.
The plant is drought tolerant and is distinguished by good keeping quality during storage. It belongs to the genetic resources of Slovenia and is used in cooking.
