The bulbs of this variety reach 10–12 cm in diameter, have a round or slightly flattened-round shape, and light golden dry scales. The mature plant reaches a height of about 45 cm.
The variety is late-maturing and is not sensitive to day length. It is traditionally grown by sowing seeds in the spring for harvest in late summer; in mild climates, autumn sowing is possible.
