The plant is perennial and forms dense clumps. The bulb is weakly developed and is a pseudobulb. Leaves are hollow, tubular, glaucous-green in color, reaching a height of 30 to 80 cm.

This type of onion is distinguished by high winter hardiness and low maintenance. The plant is used for obtaining early greens, which regrow almost throughout the entire season and are suitable for consumption in fresh and processed form.
