The plant has a semi-spreading or semi-erect habit. The leaves are long, grey-green in color, and covered with a heavy waxy bloom. The cylindrical pseudo-stem reaches 9–12 cm in length and 2.5–4 cm in diameter, and has a semi-sharp taste.
