The «Bulga» variety was included in the official European Union vegetable variety catalogs, but was subsequently removed from them. In the literature, it appears more often not as a variety for wide agronomic use, but as an object of laboratory analyses.
In scientific publications of the early 2000s, the variety was used in studies dedicated to the analysis of aromatic compound composition, as well as the influence of blanching, freezing, and various packaging methods on product quality.
