Variety description

The variety is a clone of a local population of white garlic from the Drôme region. The plant reaches a height of 50–70 cm and has intense green leaves, sometimes with a silvery bloom. It belongs to the non-bolting type, which allows it to be used for braiding.

The bulbs are large, with dense white scales; a purple or pink shade is permitted. The clove skin is white-pink, and the flesh is ivory-colored. The taste is medium-pungent, with a strong aroma. The variety has good keeping quality and cold hardiness; it is planted before winter in October–November.

Suitable for private and commercial cultivation. Included among the varieties permitted for production under the protected geographical indication Ail de la Drôme.
