The variety was bred based on local Austrian ecotypes. It is intended for the establishment of forage pastures and hayfields, often used as part of specialized grass mixtures.

A key characteristic is late maturity: flowering dates are shifted by approximately one week relative to common forms. This prevents rapid lignification of plants in the first cut, allowing the variety to retain foliage for longer.

The plant is a perennial loose-bunch grass with underground shoots, capable of forming a dense sod. The variety possesses good winter hardiness.
