The variety Tomoko is a representative of the intergeneric hybrid ×Amarine Sealy, obtained by crossing Nerine bowdenii and Amaryllis belladonna. This variety is part of the commercial series Amarine Belladiva, which includes a group of hybrids varying in flower stalk height and flower shades.
Plants of this group form flower stalks 60–75 cm tall, and the flowers occupy an intermediate position between the parent species. Under favorable conditions, the leaves can persist for almost the entire year. The flowering period occurs from September to October. The crop is perennial but does not possess high winter hardiness and requires protection in regions with cold climates.
