The plant forms medium-vigorous leaves. The root crop is characterized by a smooth surface and a round or oval shape. A feature is the location of branched fibrous roots mainly in the lower part of the root crop, which facilitates harvesting and its subsequent cleaning.

The variety is grown to obtain a root crop, with the leaves also being consumed. The plant belongs to the celeriac crop and often appears in variety lists under the synonyms Praški krupni, Prager Riesen, Prager Reuzen and Pražsky obrovsky.
