The plant forms thick and aromatic yellow-green stalks about 20 cm in height. The variety is intended for fresh consumption and allows for blanching, which reduces bitterness and improves the taste of the produce.

The variety is early-maturing. It develops well in moist, humus-rich soils. Sowing for seedlings is carried out from February to mid-March, transplanting to open field is from May to mid-June, and harvesting is carried out from August until the onset of frost.

Compared to green varieties, Goldgelber 2 celery may be characterized by less vigorous growth and increased susceptibility to Septoria.
