The plant forms a voluminous rosette of leaves. The petioles are characterized as juicy, crunchy, and uniform. Harvesting usually begins in September.

The variety possesses heat tolerance, but requires regular and abundant watering when grown in hot conditions. Both stems and leaves are consumed.

In a number of reference materials, this variety is also mentioned under the name Groene Pascal.
