Golia is one of a series of hybrids created within the framework of Italian asparagus breeding programs. The variety is intended for the commercial cultivation of green asparagus and is characterized by high productivity with an average spear weight of about 24.6 g.
The variety is susceptible to a complex of common diseases, including rust, Fusarium wilt, root rot, and violet root rot, showing a higher degree of infection during trials compared to some other varieties.
