Starlim is an early all-male hybrid, which prevents self-seeding and directs plant resources toward yield formation. Over 75% of the produce has a spear diameter exceeding 12 mm; the spears themselves have a smooth surface and tightly closed heads.
The plant forms robust, uniform, and lodging-resistant foliage that retains its green color until the end of the season. The variety is suitable for organic farming and is most effective when grown in warm and Mediterranean climates on fertile, well-drained soils.
When using irrigation and fertigation systems, the variety allows for high planting density of 25,000 to 32,000 plants per hectare. Intended for the commercial production of green asparagus.
