The variety Sunshir was obtained in the course of a breeding program by crossing two proprietary lines of Aster ericoides. The plant belongs to the early flowering group, its development is characterized by a period of 6 to 8 weeks before the onset of flowering, with about 5–7 stems formed from one flowering.

The flowers of the variety have a pale pink shade, the diameter is 3–4 cm, inflorescences of the Pink Star type. The variety is susceptible to diseases and is a short-day plant, requiring compliance with the light regime for flowering induction.
