The variety is actively used in scientific research as a model for genetic mapping of quantitative traits and the study of methods for producing doubled haploids via anther culture. High responsiveness to biotechnology methods allows it to be successfully used in in vitro plant regeneration experiments.

In comparative studies of the variety's grain, a low concentration of beta-glucan (3.15%) and a high content of zinc (68.52 mg/kg) were recorded. The variety also serves as a subject for studying genes responsible for cadmium accumulation in grain.
