The variety «Moyencourt», also known as «Noire de Moyencourt», is a spring oat (Avena sativa). The plant has a stem of medium length. A distinctive morphological feature is the black color of the grain, which is characterized by a high test weight.
The variety is quite early-maturing, yet it is characterized by low cold resistance and susceptibility to grain shattering. In agronomic terms, the variety is susceptible to rust. Historically, the crop was used primarily for fodder needs, including horse rations.
