The Bangholm cultivar group brings together a number of Danish breeding lines that can range from early-maturing to mid-maturing. The round root crops are yellow in the lower part, and the part protruding above the ground is colored deep purple or purple-green.

The flesh of the root crops is yellow, juicy, and soft. The variety is for table use, although historically rutabaga of this type was also used for fodder purposes.
